Renowned for its tranquil setting and its Well Dressing event.Newborough is a small compact village with the River Swarbourne running through its centre. The custom, and art, of well dressing takes place in the village; three wells being decorated and blessed. The ceremony and accompanying festivities are held every May Day, it is a real village affair, with the village school chidlren performing the annual maypole dances.
